I tried watching D.Gray-man, but it seemed to be filled with filler episodes and arcs. At what episode does it start to improve, because I wanted to start watching it again. Is the first part of season one worth a purchase?
4KIDS may get Fairy Tail? OH GOD!! I don't like Fairy Tail, but 4KIDS ruins every anime they touch! (Do they really make black characters lighter? That just proves they are a bunch of idiots!)
@Eric Robinson
There is a large filler arc on the D. Gray Man anime from 20 to around 50. There are some very good episodes mixed in with those but, as with all filler, some horribly pointless ones but nothing that made me stop watching although I know most other fans abandoned the show at that point. After episode 50 the show kicks into overdrive and nearly every episode is a ride.
Scott,
Just a suggestion for the podcast. You might try avoiding doing other activites with recording the podcast (opening mail, writing with a magic marker, and typing.) They are a little distracting for the listener. Otherwise, very enjoyable episode.
I must be exactly where I need to be. One person likes I defends loli's too fiercely, anther says not fiercely enough. So that puts me in the middle if I do the math right :-)
I agree with the previous comments on D.Grayman. It was even more painful watching the subs week by week by week before it was picked up. Has anyone out there kept up with the manga?
On the Gundam front: While my favorite series is a UC one (Zeta), I do have an appreciation for the other timelines. I classify Wing in the Super Robot genre, mostly. The Gundams themselves, until one point, seem almost indestructible. While I did enjoy some of the later episodes, the Peacecraft Factor IS incredibly aggravating. I find that each Gundam series has a "message", though some are stronger, while others better incorporate with the plot and character development. I wish I had a Blue-Ray player, as I haven't made additional investments in gaming systems due to my propensity to procrastinate with school work. Unicorn is pretty good, provided the characters will be built well universally.
